Very nice skilled chief

Spectacular presentation in food preparation, very attentive staff and excellent food.

I don't know what happened to this place but the food has gone really downhill since I went here 15 years ago, the dipping sauce are not as good as they used to be and the flavor is not like it used to be. The chef was great very lively and interactive but obviously they have changed the ingredients. I think this place has gone downhill. I've been to shoguns in Dfw and it's much better . I just dont know if I'll go back to this one for a while

We stopped here on a weeknight for some dinner, and overall it was a good visit. The food was very good. However, I was not impressed with the service. I ordered sushi and it was out quickly, but we waited almost an hour for my partners steak to come out.It was tasty, but not worth the wait.

took over an hour just to get our water and another thirty mins to see a chef.

I love this place, its where I always go on my birthday or dates with my boyfriend. The food is so good and sushi is fantastic! Dont forgetto tip your sushi man!

The drinks and service were good mgmt is horrible at compensation when it comes to customers. We spent $135 dollars and upon leaving I had barely touched my food due to so of course I had a Togo box, I called back less than 5min after leaving to let them k is and they had thrown my full Togo box in trash and didn’t apologize or try to make it right.., never again will I spend my money there!!!

Great service and a fun experience to watch it all cooked right in front of you from your table!

Food was wonderful, Chef was excellent but, service left a lot to be desired. Had to go ask three times for a waiter for something to drink.

Haven't been in 11 years, we decided to try it again tonight. Now I remember why we stopped going in the first place, food is horrible and drowned in teriyaki sauce. Service is lacking, charged us for a adult meal for our kid. Will not ever go back.

Great food just wish it wasn't so expensive

The cook was great, food was amazing! The cook was a real people person, had amazing tricks and didn't mind repeating his tricks! This is not my first time here and everytime I go I get a different cook who offers something different personality wise! Now on the downside the waiter wasn't as attentive.. My family and I went some time with empty cups, instead of being asked did we need things we had to look for him to ask for what we needed.. Aside from the waiter the cook was so good at keeping us entertained that we really didn't mind the absence of the waiter. And the cook was well compensated for the great time he showed us!

I chose Shogun for my birthday dinner with family. The food was great, and our server and chef were very friendly and polite.My rating revolves solely around the amount of time we spent waiting throughout the entire experience. I'm assuming they were short-handed, because the restaurant was nowhere near full, yet we had to wait 20-25 minutes to get a table. Once we were seated, we got our drinks and dinner orders taken fairly quickly, but didn't see our chef for well over 30-40 minutes.As I said, the food was really, really good, but the seemingly needless wait sort of ruined the whole evening.

I have been craving sushi lately and can’t find anywhere to go because of this epidemic. I went to shoguns and I got the Crazy Monkey sushi. I love it so much. Just a little pricey tho

Food is good. This is a more pricey option here in longview. We called ahead and made reservations for 7. We didnt get seated until after 7:30 and didnt get to eat until about 8:30. That being said our cook was great and attentive and great with the kids we had there as well.

Food was decent, would have rated four stars if chef had been more engaged with customers.

Waited almost 30 min to get drinks and salad/soup. Not a good start...cook was great and interactive with the whole group. Waiter never put in our sushi order so we were all eating when it finally got there. Portions are great but noticed that they charged extra for fried rice. All and all it was ok.

We used to come here weekly but haven’t had a chance in a while. We come back tonight and we were seated at a table that the precious cook did not clean. The 3 other grills around us were spotless. The forks were dirty. We handed them back to server and he said nothing. We Decided to leave because we did not want to eat on nasty grill. I went to hostess to get our tab and told her the situation. She said ok I’ll get your ticket. I asked her are you going to show your manager the table” she said “no he’s over there if you want to talk to him”. I very nicely said “isn’t that something you should do to show him the employees didn’t handle their job” she shook her head no and went on. I wasn’t going to him In frontOf other customers and I did not want a free tab. He just needs to know his staff needs to clean. I NEVER give bad reviews but I was completely shocked at how dirty this was and literally grossed out. The hostess was entitled and could have cared less. How sad!

Shogun's is delicious. The only problem we had was the women's bathroom had a faulty light bulb, but the employees addressed it perfectly, they fixed the problem. I have photosensitive epilepsy. I cover my eyes for the fire cause the food is so so yummy. Thank you guys for being helpful. That flashy light will not affect the review. Because it was fixed. In that note, I suggest trying The Dancing Dragon rolls if you love Eel and shrimp as much as I do. It is delicious, especially with ginger sauce and soy sauce. Love this place!

One of my favorite places in East Texas. Great show, excellent filet mignon, basically A+ on everything since the 90s!

This was my first visit and I enjoyed it. The food and service were great.

Made a 5:45 pm reservation. Drinks, salad and soup came out fairly quick but had to wait 45 + minutes before the cook arrived. Waiter said it happens all the time. Early walk-ins get the cook and those that make a reservation have to wait. Not a good policy and WILL NOT BE BACK.

Excellent attention from José! Exquisite food

We got here at 4:15 waited to be seated. 4:30 we were seated that wasn't bad with it being a Sunday and Mother's day. After a while we finally got our soup and salads. But we had to ask for spoons for our soups, we had small children who couldn't drink from the bowl. Another family sat beside us they waited for ever for their drinks, I took it among myself to ask for them. Other people at other tables were seated and a cheif quickly came to them. So we were skipped. At 5:30, yes 5:30, we finally asked where the chief was to cook our food. No one knew anything. Then they finally at 5:45 they finally said they only had 4 cooks and we were next but it would still be a while. If we would have know this we wouldn't have came. We walked out. We never got our drinks refilled. I can't believe this with a more upper class restaurant. We will not be coming back after yesterday, the fact we had no communication with anyone is so annoying. We gladly took our family to Matsu and were so satisfied.

Food good; however, the resturant needs a major cleaning and update. Cook excellent.....rest of staff below average.

Great food, better service! Totally worth the price

3.5 stars, little outdated, bar needs some help. The food makes up for it. Chef was of very good humor.
